Global trade finance and all ECA-backed loan deal count stood at just 282 in 1H 2009, down from 540 in 1H 2008 to become the lowest level since 1H 2004.

Volume stood at $70.8 billion in 1H 2009, down 10% on 1H 2008. Nearly half of the total volume was from just three transactions – Rosneft ($15 billion), Transneft ($10 billion) and Petrobras ($10 billion). Excluding these facilities, 1H 2009 volume was just $35.8...
