Trade Finance caught up with Sanjeev Paul, global head of structured trade finance at Standard Chartered Bank, on his recent trip to London to be briefed on the latest developments within the business line.

The structured trade finance (STF) business in Standard Chartered Bank has had its busiest year ever. The bank is investing heavily in this business which offers bespoke structured financing solutions to clients based on their trade cash flows.
Speaking to Trade Finance, Sanjeev Paul, global head for this business, notes that the bank has added 23 professionals to the STF team in 2009 mainly in its Asian footprint in cities such as Hong Kong, Shanghai, Beijing, Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore Singapore, Jakarta and Kuala Lumpur. He adds: “We already have a very strong presence in Middle East, Africa and the Americas and with the Asia additions we now have a 70 people strong team with global presence.”
