Christopher Conn has a wealth of experience in the trade finance arena having begun his working life matching purchase orders and invoices at the family business in New York’s meatpacking district. A career spent trying to make that process easier seemed to be on the cards. Now, thirty blocks north, high above the hustle and bustle of Times Square, Conn manages SWIFT’s trade and supply chain offering for the Americas.
Like everyone else, the trade and supply chain team at SWIFT have had to weather the storm of the financial crisis – people still talk about the news of the Lehman’s collapse coinciding with Sibos 2008. As we appear to be coming out of the downturn, momentum around initiatives such as the Trade Services Utility (TSU) is picking up again.
